Sky City I thought was supposed to be some sort of luxurious resort. It was okay, but I certainly would not consider it ‘luxury’. In fact it’s pretty tired and could do with a wee spruce up. We ordered room service and I would not recommend it, in particular the prices. I believe I may have found the world’s most expensive Benedict ($22), Florentine ($19) and Montreal ($28).
The service okay for room service.
The dish looked good. They tried to make it look inviting by adding greenery.
- The Montreal – the salmon was okay, but basically it was salmon slices. It was disappointing at the minimal quantity that was on the plate.
- The Muffins – were soggy and cold.
- The eggs – were coldish and overdone.
- The hollandaise – was home made and tasty and it was the best part of the dish. Shame the sauce was not very hot.
Would we go again?
No I can say I would not book myself into the hotel or order room service again from here. Overpriced, Over-rated I was kinda over it!
Style: Classic 5/10. Very average. Very disappointing for a hotel that proclaims they are a ‘luxury resort’.
Taste: 3/10. I actually never finished it because it was pretty cold and the muffins were soggy.
Originality: 4/10 – Very average. Because they used salmon slices, likely straight out of the packet and fridge the salmon cooled the eggs down so that by the time the food was delivered to the room the whole dish was almost stone cold. Perhaps if they had heated the plate and warmed the salmon the dish may have been more pleasurable to eat.
Value: 3/10 REALLY, REALLY EXPENSIVE. The three options are the Florentine $19, Benedict $22 or the Montreal for $28. This is by far the most expensive place I have found to date!
Eggs: (how good they were): 3/10. On the cold side and not runny at all.
