Lodge Cafe on Carrington – http://www.mtalbertlodge.co.nz/cafe.html
Reviewed by Karen – February 2015
Just a stone’s throw from Mt Albert village, this cafe has sweeping views of the city from some seating areas. It is busy and has a buzzing, vibrant atmosphere. You can choose to dine inside or outside in the courtyard. The menu offerings cater for the slightly peckish such as soup to the ravenously starving such as good old fish and chips. There is a separate kiddie’s menu to delight your little ones.
Friendly and efficient staff, though not overly speedy but we put that down to the fact that the place was packed out.
The dish was beautifully plated up with some style and thought put into it. The balsamic and parsley added a touch of class to the dish.
- The Benedict – I liked it, overall the presentation, price and taste were great.
- The Muffins – they warm and crunchy.
- The eggs – were perfect and runny. They are free range and you can taste it.
- The bacon – was perfect.
- The Spinach – I was happy with the quantity and the price (it was a side).
- The hollandaise – homemade and a large quantity of it.
Would we go again?
Yes I would go back for the bene, although I would be tempted to try the other delicious looking and smelling dishes on their menu.
